Actually, I would really like to have a discussion about what to do
about this.  I've noticed that SVN, even for updates, is very slow -
and the initial download is very very slow.  This is because we have
so much binary and example data in SVN.  I had initially thought that
we could do most tests with synthetic or highly compressible data, and
have a regression test suite that could be in a separate repository or
download.  Is this still feasible?
